OCTOBER 2–3 | WHERE ONLY THE BRAVE RIDE

The Quitaque Climb isn’t just another endurance race — it’s the kind of challenge where the sky opens up, the rain pours without mercy, and only the brave, the stubborn, or the outright heroic

keep pushing forward. This year’s Gail Conway Memorial / AHA Region 9 Championship delivered exactly that kind of test.

Despite the tough conditions, our riders showed what true endurance spirit looks like.race day rain

Darolyn Butler, our fearless leader, powered through the 50-mile ride on Van, securing an impressive 6th place finish. Rain, mud, and relentless terrain didn’t slow her determination.

Ceci and Oasis held strong as well, earning 5th place with grit and heart.

And Pepi, refusing to quit, stayed in the race until officials finally made the call to stop due to conditions. That kind of perseverance is what defines a true endurance competitor.

This year’s Quitaque Climb reminded us why we ride: the challenge, the camaraderie, and the unbreakable spirit that shows up when the trail gets tough.
