IMPORTANT INFORMATION
ABOUT YOUR RIDE
ALL TRAIL RIDES ARE WALKING ONLY UNLESS YOU BOOK A FAST RIDE – SEE FAQ BELOW FOR SKILL LEVEL REQUIRED WHEN BOOKING A FAST RIDE.
ABOUT YOUR RIDE
- Do I need a reservation? Yes, based on your height, weight, age, and riding skill level we choose a horse that is right for you. The easiest way to book is online by clicking on one of the booking buttons on this page. We book up on weekends so make your reservation at least a week in advance. To complete your reservation we need first and last name/height/weight/age for each rider. If we have no availability for the time and date you want to book you are welcome to join our waitlist, simply hit the Join Waitlist button and complete your request.
- About waivers: All people on our property must sign a waiver, not just riders. The link to the waiver is in your confirmation email. You can forward that email to all the people in your group. Minors must have a waiver signed by parent or legal guardian. We do not offer the option of filling out a paper waiver and ask that you complete your online waiver prior to arrival to avoid delays at check-in.
- What if I am running late? If you arrive 10 or more minutes after your ride start time you may be assessed a Late Fee of $10 per rider. If your booking is on any of the afternoon trail rides and all riders have not arrived and mounted by 4:45 pm, individual riders may be assessed a $20 per rider fee for an after-hours trail ride.
- Can my group book online but pay separately? If you are riding with a group and want to book online but pay separately, simply have the riders book separately. Upon checking in for your trail ride, let the staff know you are together so we can send you out on the trail with your group.
- I have not ridden a horse before, can I take a trail ride? Yes, all of our rides begin with a lesson on proper riding position, controlling the horse, equine behavior and trail safety; and our guides coach riders throughout the ride.
- Where do we ride? On wooded trails along Cypress Creek and Spring Creek.
- Do we have a guide? Yes, all rides are guided. Tip your guide if you had a nice ride.
- Can children ride? Yes, if they are 6 years or older. We have pony rides available for smaller children where the parent/responsible adult leads the pony around our grounds.
- Do you have a weight limit? Yes, 240lbs. This limit is for your safety and to protect our horses. If you arrive and are over our weight limit, you will not be allowed to ride and no refund will be offered. See important information below. For those unable to ride we offer the Equine Interactive Experience.
- Can we ride two on a horse? No, it is not safe and is too uncomfortable for both the child and the adult on our type of trails.
- Helmets are required. Please ensure that a helmet will fit properly over your hairstyle. Buns, high ponytails, extensions and braids may have to be adjusted for proper helmet fit. We provide helmets.
- What should I wear? Long pants (we ride in the woods where you can be scratched and saddles pinch bare legs), and sturdy, closed toed shoes. No heels taller than 1” or wedge heels. Wear weather appropriate clothing, gloves are nice when it is cold and bring a rain jacket if rain is in the forecast. Helmets are required, bring your own bicycle helmet or borrow one of ours.
- What should I bring? If you have re-usable water bottles, bring them, they fit in our packs better than single-use bottles. For safety reasons no purses or backpacks are allowed on trail/lunch rides. We provide waist packs with bottle holders and a zippered compartment for your personal items.
- What about the lunch rides? We offer fabulous picnic rides on the Ranch and to two different locations on the Spring Creek Greenway. Food and non-alcoholic beverages are included on all lunch/picnic rides.
- Do you have any rides for the experienced rider? Yes, we allow you to ride to your skill level, we call this a Fast Ride. There is an additional per person charge for this ride, Fast Rides can be booked online. Fast riders must be able to post the trot, and have extensive and recent riding experience. For your safety, your skill level will be evaluated by our staff and if they feel there is a safety issue the pace of the ride will be adjusted.
- What if I want to ride with just my group? We offer any of our Trail Rides as a Private Ride for an additional per person charge. We also offer the Private Group Trail Ride for groups of 5 or more riders. The Private Group Trail Ride can be booked for 1 or 1.5 hours and offers a $20 per rider savings over regular Private Ride bookings. All of these options can be booked online.
- What is your rain policy? We ride in light rain and monitor the Doppler weather radar to avoid heavy rains and thunderstorms.
- What if I am too scared to ride? We will offer extra coaching to calm your fear but if you opt not to ride you will be refunded less a $15 Late Cancellation fee.
- Please leave pets at home.
Please ensure the accuracy of your weight information for riders, is much appreciated, and sometimes essential to our ability to fulfill your reservation. Due to the size of our horses we do have a weight limit for their health and well-being, we only have a few horses that can carry riders at or near the weight limit. We have a scale at check-in, and may ask a customer to step on it when there appears to be a discrepancy between the weight submitted for the reservation and the actual weight of the rider. We hate to confirm weight at check-in; so, if possible, please check riders on a scale at home before booking your ride. This will help to avoid unpleasant surprises for everyone involved. If you are over our weight limit we will not refund.

Our regular trail rides are all walking only. This policy is for your safety. Below is our rating system, we use this so that we can choose a horse that is appropriate for your skill level. We do allow riders to go faster than a walk, these must be booked as a Fast Ride and you must be at Level 3 or above. Note: Booking a Fast Ride does not guarantee that you will be able to trot and canter, our guides reserve the right to determine the pace you will go, and they will interview all riders in your group and assess them on the trail, and use these assessments to determine the pace of your ride.
We ride “English” style, two hands on a direct rein and post the trot.
